Menu Decisions in Weddings

Weddings are all about food and an appetizing wedding menu is arguably the most critical detail to a successful reception. Food is the one thing that people are going to remember for ages after your wedding. As more and more guests and couples are becoming self-obsessed foodies, wedding planners need to increase the stakes when it comes to choosing their wedding menu.

A show-stopping wedding reception menu is not the only detail that matters in the wedding. Of course, there are various factors associated with it like- the attire, the decor, the flavors, the servings- but again nothing results as a successful wedding reception like a delicious wedding menu. Food has to be delicious and mouth-watering. The food not only has to look and taste good, but it has to meet all the requirements of the guests for them to enjoy it to the fullest.

What makes a great wedding menu?

1. Perfect Meal Setup
The menu has to be versatile for everyone present on the D-day from kids to old people. What makes a great menu is that everyone present at the wedding can be able to enjoy it. The wedding menu should be decided by keeping the time of year in mind. If yours is a summer wedding, then you can stack your menu with plenty of fruits and veggies.

2. Quality Food, Delicious Menu
Your wedding must not be about the quantity of food but rather by the quality and flavor of the food you’re serving on the menu. Plan the menu properly. The menu can include delicious appetizers, starters, salad, main course, and don’t forget to add dessert at last because Indian weddings are all about sweets.

3. A healthy wedding menu
The food served in Indian weddings is quite sumptuous and grand. However, people nowadays have become extremely health-conscious. They no longer prefer gorging on dishes laden with oil even if it’s for a single day. Plan the menu to include food items that are not only healthy but satiate the taste buds of those invitees who are on a diet as well. Having excess starchy food on the menu can make your guests feel more hungry and
also cause bloating and hence you should keep it off the menu.

4. Avoid Landy Menu
You should avoid greasy foods filled with a lot of oil and gravies. Your guests will spend so much time and money getting the perfect dress for your wedding, so you don’t want them to be covered in spaghetti sauce halfway through cocktail hour. So try to keep the food items that are easy to pick up and can be eaten with fingers.

5. Cocktail menu
A great cocktail menu will complement the drink menu well and it’s best to discuss with the staff what food and drink combinations will work the best.
