The Bollywood star Neil Nitin Mukesh tied knots with Rukmini Sahay on 9th February in the city of lakes Udaipur. The three-day wedding celebration took place in Radisson Blu Palace Resort and Spa, starting from a fancy cocktail party and ring ceremony where Neil went down on his knees to propose Rukmini and the couple exchanged rings. Following day, the couple rejoiced Mewari mela themed Mehandi and Sufi themed sangeet ceremony. The duo arrived in a buggy decorated with flowers for the Mehandi ceremony and the bride luxuriated in beautiful traditional Mewari mehandi adding to the royal theme of the wedding. In the grand sangeet ceremony, which was named as ‘Shaam-e-Sangeet’, Bollywood star Rishi Kapoor sung ‘main shayar to nahi’, while Neil performed on the recent bollywood hit ‘Nashe si Chadd gai’ and the bride, Rukmini gave an elegant performance on ‘piya tose naina laage’.
Thursday morning the couple and guests enjoyed a pool party and Haldi ceremony, which was named ‘Amber Fiesta’ followed by a royal Rajasthani themed grand var mala in the evening and late night Pheras. The royal-themed wedding had Rajasthani touch in all the ceremonies and food. Moreover, the bride and groom relished the Rajasthani touch in their apparels too. Keeping it exclusive and classified, the grand wedding had just kith and kins and very few Bollywood stars.
From the imperial Rajasthani decor, the bride coming in a flower-bedecked contemporary palanquin, Neil’s naughty wink to his ‘girl’, colourful fireworks and classic Jai mala moment, to a beaming father Nitin Mukesh, each emotion of the wedding was well captured.
